Most accounting software is built for accountants and then simplified for everyone else. FastMTD started at the other end: a camera, a running total, and one screen a quarter. Everything an accountant needs is still there, in a separate product made for their day.

Where we are with HMRC
FastMTD is built and tested against HMRC’s Making Tax Digital for Income Tax sandbox. HMRC recognise software one tax year at a time and closed the list for 2026-27 before we applied, so we are seeking production access for 2027-28, the year Making Tax Digital reaches sole traders and landlords with income over £30,000. Until it is granted, FastMTD keeps your records and figures but cannot send an update to HMRC. We’ll say plainly on this page when that changes rather than implying it before then. What we can already state about hosting, encryption and processors is on the security page.
